Effective July 21, 2026 · Agreement version 1.0. By accepting the installer agreement, installing, activating, accessing, or using POS Printer Emulator, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the software.
1. Parties and product
This agreement is between you—an individual or the organization on whose behalf you act—and EPCOM Ltd. (“Licensor”). “Software” means the POS Printer Emulator desktop application, background services, installer, documentation, updates, and related components supplied by Licensor.
If you accept this agreement for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it. “You” and “your” then refer to that organization.
2. License grant and editions
Subject to this agreement and any applicable order confirmation, Licensor grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on Windows devices you control for lawful POS development, receipt testing, administration, training, support, and troubleshooting.
The Trial edition is an evaluation license and may include daily job limits, a visible watermark, no historical job access, and unavailable premium features. Paid Lite, Pro, and Enterprise licenses are perpetual for the version and features purchased, subject to the device, listener, user, or other limits shown in the application, pricing page, or order confirmation. A license does not include more installations, listeners, users, or features than the applicable edition permits.
3. Registration and activation
New installations operate in Trial mode unless activated. You agree to provide accurate customer or company name and email information. Activation keys, maintenance tokens, and installation credentials are confidential. You may not publish, share, resell, sublicense, or use them for more installations or capacity than purchased. A valid key may upgrade an existing installation without a reinstall.
Licensor may verify license validity and enforce the applicable edition limits, but will not knowingly collect receipt content as part of activation or ordinary usage reporting.
4. Permitted copies and transfers
You may make a reasonable number of archival copies of the installer and your license records. You may transfer a paid license only with Licensor’s prior written approval and only if the transferor stops using all copies and the recipient accepts this agreement. Transfers prohibited by law are not restricted by this section.
5. Restrictions
Except where applicable law or an open-source license expressly permits it, you may not:
- bypass or defeat activation, Trial limits, edition limits, or security;
- rent, lease, sublicense, sell, distribute, or provide the Software as a hosted or managed service to third parties;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble proprietary components;
- remove or alter copyright, trademark, attribution, or license notices;
- use the Software to violate law, privacy rights, payment-card rules, or another party’s intellectual-property rights; or
- use the Software to operate or impersonate an unauthorized network service or intercept print traffic you are not authorized to receive.
Nothing in this agreement limits rights that cannot lawfully be restricted.
6. Updates, upgrades, and maintenance
A paid license is not a subscription unless your order expressly says otherwise. The purchased version and its licensed features may continue to be used after included maintenance ends. Access to later versions, update downloads, upgrades, and assisted support may require active maintenance.
Licensor may change or discontinue future features, services, or editions, but will not intentionally remove perpetual rights already purchased for an installed version except as required by law or because of your material breach.
7. Receipt data, registration data, and privacy
Receipt text, raw ESC/POS data, barcodes, QR-code contents, rendered receipts, and eligible job history are designed to remain on the Windows device running the Software. Licensing services may receive an installation identifier, authentication token, customer or company name, email address, application version, license tier and identifier, maintenance status, launch counts, emulated job counts, and last-seen time. The current privacy notice explains this processing and is incorporated into this agreement by reference.
You own or retain your rights in data you submit to the Software. You are responsible for having permission to process it and for avoiding real payment-card data, authentication secrets, personal information, or other sensitive production data in test receipts unless you have appropriate safeguards and a lawful basis.
8. Network, system, and production responsibility
The Software may listen for RAW TCP/IP print traffic, including on port 9100. You are responsible for firewall rules, trusted-network configuration, access control, backups, and compliance with your security policies. The Software is a testing and diagnostic tool, not a payment processor or security product.
ESC/POS behavior and vendor extensions vary. You must validate production output on the actual target printer and hardware before deployment.
Licensor’s only supported operating-system environment is a 64-bit computer running Windows 11 Pro that is currently supported by Microsoft and has all applicable security and servicing updates installed. Windows 10, other Windows editions, modified operating systems, virtualized environments, and unsupported or end-of-life Windows releases are outside the supported environment. The Software may install or operate in an unsupported environment, but any such use is at your own risk and is not eligible for technical support, compatibility assistance, or a warranty of operation.
9. Ownership and open-source software
The Software is licensed, not sold. Licensor and its suppliers retain all rights not expressly granted by this agreement, including rights in names, logos, proprietary services, activation systems, documentation, and software.
Some or all source code and third-party components may be provided under the Apache License 2.0 or other open-source licenses. For any component accompanied by an open-source license or notice, that license governs the component and this agreement does not reduce the rights it grants. Required notices and license texts are included with the Software or its source distribution.
10. Third-party products
The Software may interoperate with Microsoft Windows, WebView2, printer drivers, POS systems, and other third-party products. Those products are governed by their providers’ terms. References to Epson, ESC/POS, Microsoft, or other third parties describe compatibility only and do not imply affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement.
Licensor supports the POS Printer Emulator Software only. Licensor does not sell, maintain, warrant, or provide technical support for any third-party POS system, printer driver, operating system, network, or hardware. The Software is designed to work with common POS printing workflows and ESC/POS data, but Licensor does not represent or warrant that it is compatible with every POS product, version, configuration, proprietary protocol, or vendor extension. Older, discontinued, unsupported, or otherwise obsolete third-party systems (“Legacy Systems”) may be incompatible and may not be eligible for integration assistance.
11. Support and response times
Support and maintenance are provided only as stated in your order confirmation or the then-current maintenance policy. You must provide reasonable diagnostic information—excluding receipt content and secrets unless specifically agreed—for Licensor to investigate a support request.
If a third-party POS system does not generate supported print data or does not communicate correctly with the Software, resolving the issue may require changes by the POS vendor or customer, configuration services, custom integration work, or additional Software development. Such work is outside standard Software support, is not guaranteed to be available or successful, and may require additional fees. Licensor will perform billable integration or development work only under a separate written statement of work, quotation, or order that you approve before the work begins. Licensor has no obligation to modify the Software for a particular POS system or Legacy System.
Unless EPCOM Ltd. expressly agrees to a different response time in a separate written service-level agreement signed by EPCOM Ltd., a support request covered by active maintenance may take up to six (6) calendar months after Licensor receives a sufficiently complete request to receive an initial substantive response. Payment for a license, maintenance, or support does not create a shorter response time. A “response” may be limited to acknowledging the request, requesting additional information, providing status or guidance, or stating that the matter is unsupported. A response is not a promise to diagnose, correct, repair, modify, provide a workaround for, or resolve the reported issue. No diagnosis, correction, workaround, restoration, or resolution time is guaranteed.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Software, Trial, documentation, and services are provided “as is” and “as available,” with all faults. Licensor disclaims all express, implied, and statutory warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, quiet enjoyment, and warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
Licensor does not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every POS system or ESC/POS command, or an exact substitute for physical printer validation.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers. In those jurisdictions, the disclaimers apply only to the extent legally permitted, and you retain all mandatory consumer and statutory rights.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Licensor and its suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, business, goodwill, data, or production, arising from or related to the Software, even if advised of the possibility.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total aggregate liability of Licensor and its suppliers arising from or related to the Software will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the applicable Software license or (b) US $100. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
14. Term and termination
This agreement begins when you first accept, install, or use the Software. You may terminate it by uninstalling and destroying all copies in your control. Licensor may terminate your license for a material breach if you do not cure the breach within 30 days after written notice, or immediately if the breach cannot reasonably be cured.
On termination, stop using and remove the Software. Sections that by their nature should survive will survive, including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and general terms.
15. Export and legal compliance
You must comply with applicable export-control, sanctions, anti-corruption, privacy, and other laws. You may not use or transfer the Software to a person, entity, or location when prohibited by applicable law.
16. General terms
This agreement, the applicable order confirmation, the privacy notice, and any open-source notices are the complete agreement about the Software and replace prior discussions on that subject. If there is a conflict, an order confirmation controls only for its specific commercial terms, and an open-source license controls for its covered component.
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The state and federal courts located in Georgia have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory law gives you another forum. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
If a provision is unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the remaining provisions will remain effective. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign this agreement except as permitted above; Licensor may assign it as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer of the Software business.
Licensor may publish revised terms for future releases. A revised agreement applies only after you affirmatively accept it or install a release that clearly presents it for acceptance. No revision reduces mandatory rights.
